Here’s one way to get over a relationship. Dumped by her boyfriend after he met someone else on a business trip to India, comic-strip artist Nina Paley spent five years on her PC crafting this tale of man-troubles across the ages. In ancient India we follow the tale of proud prince Rama and resourceful, lovelorn Sita, while back in contemporary New York Nina gets used to sharing her bed with a cat rather than a man. Knitting it altogether is a series of sultry numbers by 20s icon Annette Hanshaw, and a Greek chorus from three Indian expat shadow-puppets which offers a unique spin on the Ramayana.
