Here are Goldie (Metalheadz) and 3D (Massive Attack) in fresh-faced younger days, painting a mural in the Bull Ring, Birmingham. It’s a clip from Bombin’, Dick Fontaine’s 1987 doc for channel 4, which we hope to track down in screenable form in time for March.

January 18, 2009 1:44 amGood luck team flatpack…
I think this is gold dust…
If you succeed let me know and I can get the DVD of the sunday afternoon breakin jam from the mac 1985 to you. The two guys beatboxing at the start feature in Bombin’ provided the backing for a rap called ‘Riot in Handsworth’ if my memory serves me correctly…
A really great film Bombin, hope you can find it – like the british version of Style Wars by Henry Chalfant… ace
January 19, 2009 11:36 amDick Fontaine has been back in touch already and it’s looking hopeful. If all goes well it’ll be showing – with Style Wars, funnily enough – on Saturday 14 March. Will confirm the details shortly. And it’d be great to show some of the mac stuff too Mark.
