Crikey, dormant blog. Apologies for the month-long silence. We were busy tracking down good stuff for next year, and as you can see rejiggling the website. The full monty will be online next February, and in the meantime we promise to be better bloggers.
Much to the relief of our postman, today is the final day for Flatpack submissions. A few hundred dvds to keep us busy this Christmas! Many thanks to all those who’ve sent in work; we’ll be in touch in the new year.
DVDs have been steadily thumping onto the mat. One of today’s crop contained a warning relevant to all shorts programmers.

Ok, we are ready for your mini-masterpieces. If you’d like your short film to be considered for the next Flatpack Festival (23-28 March 2010), please fill out the form below and get it to us by Friday 4th December 2009. Flatpack is not restricted to one particular genre, but we recommend that you have a little browse of last year’s programme or the one before just to get an idea of the kind of thing we show.

A brief insight into how Flatpack planning works.
For a good while it was nice to think about other things.
Then this morning I sent our designer a photo.

Straight away he wrote back with a font he’s been admiring.

So Flatpack 4 is looking decidedly art deco at the moment…
The dates are 23-28 March 2010; no booking a holiday unless it’s in Birmingham.
We’ll open submissions in September. In the meantime, have a good summer.

A whole five months until the actual festival, and we already have a tasty-looking holding page up on the Flatpack site. Unprecedented. If you’d like to submit a short film for the Flatpack programme, then get yourself over there and click on ’submissions’ for more info, or just download this form. The deadline is 5 December 2008.
